Growing Stronger Communities Through Cocoa

Building a better future together, with planet in mind.

Federice Estates is deeply committed to fostering sustainable growth and opportunity within our local communities. Our commitment to rural farmers is exemplified by our engagement with dynamic groups like the Chuar Cocoa Cooperative Society (CCCS). We believe in supporting dedicated local initiatives that demonstrate clear momentum and vision.

By partnering with cooperative societies, we focus on key milestones such as advanced farmer training (in farm management, pest control, and yield production), infrastructure development (like completing the CCCS Resource Centre), and rehabilitating essential resources. We aim to establish long-term partnerships that empower farmers, sustain the quality of cocoa production, and ensure a thriving future for the entire community.

Federice Estate is dedicated to sustainable cocoa farming and building strong community partnerships in the East Sepik Province. Our engagement at the Local Cocoa Show in Baimuru Village in October 2025, highlighted the strong enthusiasm of local farmers in becoming Partner Farmers.

Our commitment is to drive excellence through all stages of product by:

  • Targeted Training: Providing essential training on crucial aspects of cocoa quality, including the fermentation process for sun-dried beans and Cacao Block Management.

  • Strategic Growth: Actively identifying new farmers, conducting field surveys with GPS plotting, and establishing partnerships with registered cooperative groups to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality dry cocoa beans that meet Federice Estate’s quality specifications.

  • Stronger Identity: Promoting farmer cooperative societies by incorporating their names alongside the FEE 2020 logo on t-shirts, fostering a cohesive and proud brand identity.

We are focused on supporting our Partner Farmers every step of the way, building a resilient and high-quality cocoa supply chain.

Empowering East Sepik's Cocoa Farmers: A Partnership for Quality

Over two days (July 22–23, 2025), the EU-STREIT PNG Programme successfully hosted a significant National Learning and Innovation Event in Wewak, East Sepik Province. The event gathered policy-makers, technical officers, and partners from across Papua New Guinea to showcase progress and discuss the replication of successful development models nationwide.

The event included:

  • A comprehensive briefing on the Programme’s integrated development model.

  • Interactive booths showcasing cutting-edge cocoa and vanilla innovations and best practices. Federice Estates proudly participated, hosting an interactive booth that engaged participants with their expertise and contributions to agribusiness innovation.

  • Field visits to select production and post-harvest processing sites.

  • Inspiring success stories from cocoa farmers and agripreneurs who have transitioned from subsistence farming to value-added agribusiness, now accessing premium international markets.

Participants shared ideas and explored how to replicate and scale the EU-STREIT PNG development model nationwide to drive inclusive and sustainable growth. Federice Estates is proud to be a local partner for this important event.
